Step by Step Instructions to Upload Project/Package/Object to SVN Repository
Below we walk thru the steps to upload Clarify Projects/Packages/Objects with the SVN Repository. These steps are ideal for the inital upload to an SVN repository.
1 - Team Share
After a new project is created, an Clarify user will want to highlight the projects they want to share with the SVN Repository.
Next they will Right-Click > Team > Share Project(s)
2 - Select Group of Projects
Once the Clarify user selects Share Projects, a Share Project Wizard will pop up. The pop up will list the projects that will be shared. Select the Share New Projects radio button and click Next.
3 - Share Project with SVN Repository
Once the Clarify user selects Share Projects, a Share Project Wizard will pop up. The pop up will list the projects that will be shared. Select the Share New Projects radio button and click Next.
If the SVN Repository already exists in the Eclipse Workspace, then users will choose Use existing repository location.
4 - Enter Repository Location
Next the Clarify user will enter the Repository’s Location Information. This includes the URL, the label (optional), username, and password. Then click Next.
5 - Specify Project Location
The Clarify user will choose the project location in the Repository. The best practice is to select the Advanced Mode radio button and then select the Use Repository Location layout. This will place the projects in the Trunk of the Repository. Once complete click Next.
6 - Enter Share Project Commit Comment
IN the screen below, we will be asked to enter a comment. This comment includes the project being shared and the SVN it is going to.
Click Finish when done.
7 - Enter Comment Finish
Once the Finish button is clicked, a progress bar will pop up showing the Clarify user sharing the projects with the SVN.
Click Finish when done.
Once complete another box will pop up showing each folder that will be placed up on the SVN and also what comment will be showed to other users. For this example we are adding new projects.
Click OK.
8 - Uploaded to the SVN Repository
Once the upload is complete, the Clarify user will now see their projects are connected to the SVN.
To confirm the Clarify project has been uploaded to the SVN Repository, the Clarify user can click on the SVN Repository at the top right of the Clarify Studio.
The newly added SVN will be listed along with the recently uploaded projects, in the Trunk.
